The saying goes that all publicity is good publicity. And this could be applied to what happened with the Pokémon Masters mobile video game.
The Pokémon Masters game was announced in May 2019 along with other games for different platforms. When it was released a few months after its announcement, the game it surpassed one million downloads quickly and became the new favorite of smartphone users, apart from Pokémon Go.
On the occasion of its first anniversary, the game received a major update with several changes. One of those adjustments was applied to the name of the game, to which the word “EX”, which has also been used in the TCG version of Pokémon to refer to special cards.
However, the hashtag with which the new name of the game was promoted was the object of massive mockery, as many people confused it with “Pokémon Master Sex”. And memes were the order of the day.

Despite this disappointment, Pokémon Masters Ex continues to be a download hit with new events for its players. Nothing like a little hilarious publicity to raise the reputation of a game.
