As it sounds, the Karate Kid saga is further expanded with the surprise announcement of a video game inspired by the Cobra Kai series. The original 1984 film not only introduced Daniel-san and Mister Miyagi, it also skyrocketed the popularity of karate. The saga was completed with two direct sequels, followed by a remake and finally the premiere of the Cobra Kai series, which explores the life of Jhonny Lawrence (Daniel’s rival in the Karate Kid).
This is the second time the franchise has appeared on consoles after an absence of more than 36 years. The first game came out in 1987 for the NES, developed by Atlus, and was became one of the most infamous games on that console due to its enormous difficulty. It is currently part of the lists of “worst games” on YouTube, where it was rediscovered when a youtuber decided to play it in one of his videos.
The new game that will be released on October 20 is a Final Fight beat-‘em-up that will have more than 28 missions, and their respective fights against final bosses. The player You can choose between Daniel LaRusso or Jhonny Lawrence, who will have their own campaigns that will be mixed into a single narrative. In addition, other characters can be used from the series, as Jhonny’s star student, Miguel; or Daniel’s brave daughter, Samantha. Each character will have their own combos, special attacks and tree of skills. All the elements that are sure to delight die-hard fans of the franchise.
