The inclusion of Pyra and Mythra, two characters from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, in the Smash Bros Ultimate game was met with mixed reactions. One side of the community welcomed this ‘duo’ who had been part of one of the most beloved games of their childhood and youth. The other side strongly criticized the Smash Bros director’s decision to add more sword-wielding characters and the fan-service dragged by the girls.
To add spice to the drama, one user posted a video on Twitter in which he displayed a modifier that increased the bounce of the breasts of both combatants.

‘I exaggerated the physics of the rebound in Pyra and Myhtra’
Unsurprisingly, the Smash Bros Ultimate fans split again, some praising the artificer for this ‘setting’ and others condemning what he did, calling him a pervert.
This anecdote reveals how fragmented the western Smash Bros. community is. In Japan, despite initially criticizing the game director’s decision to choose the new characters, Pyra and Mythra received further approval from the players, becoming a novel option in games.
Modifiers of this type that are created and used in video games (whether fighting or adventure) are very common. Examples such as the mods in Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball or Tombraider, which achieved the effect of displaying the heroines in Eva costumes, are widespread but have not received such a notorious share of criticism and censorship.
This is one of the reasons why many Smash Bros fans consider this new scandal surrounding the game and its new warriors to be ridiculous. With the popularity of Pyra and Mythra slowly (but surely) rising, it is very likely that events like this will soon be forgotten.
