Mortal Kombat creator responds to Shaggy's MK11 request

Mortal Kombat

Ed Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat and director of MK11, has responded to the iconic memes of Shaggy.

To the surprise of many, Ultra Instinct Shaggy has become an internet sensation… again. This Scooby-Doo character became a meme midway through Dragon Ball Super, and somehow this one has made a comeback. It was thought that the peak of this… cultural event was going to be his request (which got so many reactions in our report that we had to delete the news). However, Ed Boon surprised and directly tweeted about the role of this character in Mortal Kombat. No, don’t imagine anything strange, this is not going to happen.

In an attempt to revive the company, they resorted to remaking their most popular games. However, the Superstar Saga remake was released in 2017 and the Bowser ‘s Inside Story remake was released in 2018. Both games were released on the Nintendo 3DS, when the Switch was already available. This made it much more difficult for the press and the public to pay attention to them.

The first thing Ed (creator of Mortal Kombat and director of multiple games in the franchise) tweeted was a response. One user said “we love Shaggy” and Boon responded “tell me how that works for you…” implying the obvious reality of how impossible it would be to include a Scooby-Doo character in a 17-year-old game. However, Ed then tweeted a photo of Shaggy on Ultra Instinct and commented “Hi? Low? Mid? Grab? I’ll make you fucking mix-ups in fighting games. " Probably a joke of this whole situation.

Finally, someone responded to the image saying “Do you know what this means? Now a youtuber is going to make a video about Shaggy in MK11 ”. To this, Ed Boon replied “… then MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!” No, in case it is not clear, the chance of this happening for real is close to nil. However, with enough insistence a mod could be made for the PC version. Talk to the modders.

Mortal Kombat XI launches April 23 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The petition has already reached 150,000 SIGNATURES but we are afraid to report it, we do not want the web to go down again.
