Hideo Kojima and the Guinness

Famed video game director Hideo Kojima was the internet sensation after the release of Death Stranding, his latest title. The reason: It was awarded by Guinness with two records due to the enormous number of followers he reached in cyberspace.

The brilliant and eccentric creator of the Metal Gear saga and participant in the Castlevania reboot is not only known for his great ingenuity and vision when designing video games, but also because of his notorious presence on social media.

Such a trend did not go unnoticed by Guinness, and awarded two plaques to the director of Kojima Productions in recognition of gathering the largest number of followers both on Instagram as well as on Twitter.

That was not the first time that Kojima took the Guinness World Record. In 2008, he was awarded two other plaques: one for Metal Gear for being the first game to use stealth, as the main mechanic and the other for Metal Gear Solid 2 for being the best-selling stealth game on PS2.
