Girls’ Frontline is a strategy role-playing game developed by Mica Team, a Chinese doujin game circle. This RPG was launched in China in May 2016, with a English version since May 2018, and in Japanese since October of the same year for IOS and Android. The player controls squads of android characters, known as T-Dolls.
The game is a prequel to another title developed by Mica Team, called Codename: Bakery Girl, released in 2004.
During a Mica Team online event through the Bilibili platform, the Chinese studio revealed that a project to animate the popular Girls’ Frontline mobile video game this process. It was also revealed that Warner Bros. Japan is behind this production of this anime, which is projected to premiere sometime during the year 2021.
This is not the first anime adaptation that the franchise has. In autumn 2015, a 12-episode short series titled Girls’ was broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS 11.
Frontline: Healing Chapter. In 2019 he would return to Japanese television with a new series entitled Girls’ Frontline: Madness Chapter, also broadcasting in October 2019 a Chinese version through the Bilibili platform.
In addition to the anime, Girls ‘Frontline also made the leap to manga under the title Girls’ Frontline: The Song of Dolls. This manga is drawn by Mahiru and has been serialized since 2018 in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex magazine and through the Chinese service Bilibili. Also in Japan, four anthological volumes were published by different authors and under the title Dolls Frontline Dengeki Comic Anthology by Dengeki Bunko and another 4-volume anthology titled Dolls Frontline Comic Anthology and at the hands of the publisher Ichijinsha.
