A few weeks ago, Netflix surprised everyone by confirming that it will soon premiere a live-action series based on the profitable Resident-Evil video game franchise. The This argument would be original, starring the daughters of Albert Wesker and occupying two timelines. So far, that is all that is known about the plot. This notice was made through the official Netflix account on Twitter.

Many fans weren’t quite as exciting to learn that Netflix was following the trend of inventing plots and characters rather than adapting the story of video games. This apparently reached the ears of the company because news leaked two days ago that Netflix was producing another Resident Evil series. And it was confirmed yesterday at the Tokyo Game Show during the Capcom panel.

The series will be titled Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. It will be digitally animated and will feature the stellar characters of the second installment of the franchise: Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
Another piece of information is the participation of Hiroyuki Kobayashi as producer of this series. Kobayashi works at Capcom and was part of the original developer team of the first two Resident Evil franchise titles. This ensures that, at the very least, the plot will not deviate from the original material.
The series will premiere next year. Until then, we can only cross our fingers and pray that it is a good production.
