“For The Damaged Coda” is the name of the song that is heard when the true identity of one of the Morty is brought to light, who unlike the others developed hatred towards the Ricks. This work is heard for the first time in the chapter “Close Encounters with the Ricks” and has 2 very marked sections.
The first section accompanies the scene when the “council of the Ricks” discover that the Rick that they had persecuted was being controlled by somebody and they begin to question such event. The work (which is in the key of Cm) is reflective, something like when one goes “tying up the dots” to little by little solve the enigma behind something. Hence, it is interesting that it does not start with the degree Im of the tonality:
| Db 7 | % | Fm / C | % | D ° | D ° 7 |
| Cm - Bbm / Db | Fm / C - G / D | Ab / Eb | Bb / D - G / D | G / D |
And after a calderón (figure that extends the duration of a Note), the second and most representative section of the work enters. being this melancholic and revealing at the same time. Section that coincides when the “Evil Morty” (alias that the Fandom put on him) removes the patch and reveals that he was controlling the Rick that everyone was chasing:
| Cm - Bb / D | Eb - G / B | Cm - Bb / D | Eb - G / B | Cm | Cm - Ab | G - G / B | x2
The work continues until the credits of the chapter, following the harmony of the first 2 bars of this last section. It is worth mentioning that this work is also used in the chapter “Tales From the Citadel / The Ricklantis Mixup” where this fearsome Morty does his thing again.
