2018 was consecrated as the year with the announcement and premiere of more adaptations in real action of franchises of western series and original oriental productions that arrived in new formats and proposals to the fans, establishing a business model that still remains to be exploited. The anime of yesteryear is one of the main focuses of platforms such as Netflix to bring to life and that is how fans are already beginning to theorize and position their preferences to bring iconic franchises to the years that are running.
A recent study carried out by the Japanese portal GooRanking, surveyed more than 3,000 participants to define what would be, according to their own preferences, the animation series from the 90s that should return with a new series, film or new format this 2019 by its creators and the result was unanimous. Slam Dunk is the favorite installment as the franchise that should return with a new proposal.
The franchise created by Takehiko Inoue with a manga series that was published for six years and that had an anime adaptation with more than 101 episodes was positioned as the most anticipated and remembered series by fans today. There are more than 31 compilation volumes that told the adventures of Hanamichi Sakuragi as the protagonist of the series who pretends to be an athlete in search of love.
