The mangaka commented that there were not so many constellations available, since he discarded the constellations of the Compass and the Pneumatic Machine. He discarded those of the zodiac signs, since he destined him for the clan that would confront them in the series (the Golden Saints).
During the discarding process, he managed to have ten constellations that he considered would serve his purpose. He leaned for the five best known: Pegasus, Dragone, Cigno, Andromeda, and Fenice.
The Golden Saints
The other five that remained pending, were destined to the other five Bronze saints: Jabu, Ichi and the rest. Although, Jabu was close to being a main character, all possibility was eliminated, since the only one who could be stubborn was Pegasus. Counting all these points that were taken into account for the choice, Kurumada confirmed that he could not have chosen better his characters.
It is clear that the more work it cost, the more of a mark it left …
