The Pokémon universe has expanded at an urban and architectural level with each new installment and film in the series. The world in which Ash and company live and fight their battles is strongly inspired by the real one we inhabit, to the point of faithfully reproducing various sites that we could visit on a trip for tourist purposes. And the following list shows some of these locations.
1. Alto Mare (Johto Region)
This city is an almost faithful reproduction of Venice and its flooded streets, which are crossed by boats known as gondolas. To emphasize that Italian flair, the city’s soundtrack and new characters (Bianca and Lorenzo) have that distinctive Mamma Mia touch that is impossible to miss.
2. Cameran Palace (Kanto Region)
Located near the Indigo plateau, this castle rises with medieval European airs. This is because this construction is a faithful reproduction of the German castle Neuschwanstein, built in the 19th century for the famous composer Richard Wagner, also a German national.
3. Alamos Town (Sinnoh Region)
Built as a symbol of harmony between humans and Pokémon, Alamos is inspired by the Spanish cities of Barcelona and Granada. To be more precise, Alamos recreates the beginnings of these metropolises, when they were surrounded by forests. All the architecture of this fictional town also breathes Spanish decoration, with vast gardens and towers that dominate the surroundings.
4. Crown City (Sinnoh Region)
Another city in the Sinnoh region, Crown is surrounded by thick vegetation that was revitalized by the legendary Pokémon Celebi after it froze. Crown’s architecture and urban style is reminiscent of its royal counterpart, Amsterdam, due to its contact with nature and the dominance of its structures in the landscape.
5. Dahara City (Kalos Region)
The single image should bring to the mind of the reader the majestic city of Dubai. Well, Dahara is an almost faithful copy of said tourist site in our world. The metropolis that is part of the vast Kalos region is located in the middle of a desert, surrounded by a large body of water. Like prolific Dubai, Dahara has a huge building called Dahara Tower, which is a moment in honor of the legendary pokemon Arceus.
