Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi continues to receive attacks left and right with the intention of taking it out of the air and canceling it permanently. But this time, the enthusiastic critics of the revenge story starring Keyaru found themselves with a wall that they will very likely never be able to overcome: the BPO (Broadcasting Ethics & Program Improvement Organization).
The goal of the BPO is to ensure that broadcasting from various franchises is of excellent quality and promotes ethical values. In addition, it ensures freedom of expression and ensures that it is observed. The BPO collected all the complaints about the Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi anime, which highlighted the strong violent and sexual content the series features. These arguments also indicated that the anime incited viewers to harass and mistreat women, for which it should be immediately withdrawn from all platforms on which it is broadcast.
The BPO’s response was a resounding ‘NO’. Their report revealed that the violent scenes had been reviewed by committee members, who deemed it appropriate for the series to air at midnight, as well as steps taken to ensure it reaches an adult audience.
The BPO also stressed that the detractors of Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi direct their opinions to the production team responsible for the series, and that they respect the freedom of expression of the author and his assistants. That said, the committee’s stance was reinforced in keeping the anime on the air, broadcasting it according to the standards set by the BPO.
