During the final saga of Dragon Ball Z, Goku showed the form of the Super Saiyan 3. This form dramatically increased Goku’s power and was crucial during the battle against Majin Buu before being displaced by other more powerful transformations. However, the question remained whether Vegeta would reach that level. Many fans were left with the frizz made when verifying with the passage of the chapters and the jump from Z to GT that Vegeta would not exhibit such a Super Saiyan state.
The debates began as to why Vegeta did not use that form (it was clear that he was powerful enough to do so) and the fanarts did not wait about what Vegeta would look like as Super Saiyan 3.
The anime Dragon Ball Heroes, which is transmitted via the internet, has presented the Saiyan prince in this transformation for the first time in anime. Similar to Goku, Vegeta loses his eyebrows and his hair grows almost to his heels. It goes without saying that the proud Saiyan’s power rises dramatically.
Despite being the first time Vegeta is shown as Super Saiyan 3 in an anime, it is not in the expanded Dragon Ball universe. In 2009, the video game Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Battlers featured Vegeta in this transformation. It is worth mentioning that Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball, revealed that Vegeta was excluded from the Super Saiyans 3 club due to budget. In the words of the mangaka master himself: “Drawing and animating that shape is a real challenge. The long hair that characterizes it is very complicated to do and takes a long time. And we well know that time is money ”.
Anyway, Vegeta has risen to the point of not needing such a transformation by being able to use the Super Saiyan God form and variants of it. Still, Dragon Ball Heroes satisfies fans by introducing the warrior prince like he’s never seen before in anime, and that’s cause for joy.
