Anime Studio Ghibli Dragon Ball Mononoke Princess Spirited away The castle in the sky Totoro

Dragon Ball Ghibli style

Ghibli, the legendary studio based in Tokyo, has won the hearts of all anime and manga fans over the years with its wonderful stories loaded with fantasy and mysticism. Of all the notorious portfolio of works of the study, the Castle in the sky, My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away stand out.

On the other hand, gg.gopgap is an independent character designer from Thailand who uses his Instagram account of his as a medium to showcase his designs (which vary in style and stroke). And, as an admirer of the art style that the studio used in the film Princess Mononoke, he decided to capture his vision of the Dragon Ball universe using precisely the character design that was used in that film.

Here we show you the illustrations of the skilled artist. We start the lines above with what Goku would look like as a child if the creators of Princess Mononoke had taken over Akira Toriyama’s most famous project. And next to him is Chaos, Tenshinhan’s inseparable companion.

There are also the adult versions of Goku and Vegeta, both in their basic form and in super saiyan state. The artist took the liberty of changing the design of the warriors’ attire a bit, such as the bandages that cover Goku’s hands and forearms (similar to those used by fighters in Muay Thai, a Thai martial art) and in the case of Vegeta, short sleeves and gloves with exposed fingers that resemble those worn by MMA fighters. And finally, Goku in his most recent transformation: ** Super saiyan blue **.

If you want to enjoy more of the artist’s designs, look for him on Instagram using his pseudonym: gg.gopgap.
