Anime manga dragon ball bulma urusei yatsura akira toriyama

Bulma's first appearance in the anime was not in Dragon Ball

Bulma was the second character that was introduced in the Dragon Ball universe, during an encounter she had with Goku when he began his adventures. However, it was recently revealed that Bulma had appeared in another anime before Dragon Ball was released.

concept

An otaku named CoolTaff published this curious fact on his social networks, with images and a video as evidence of her finding. Bulma made a brief ‘cameo’ in the classic anime Urusei Yatsura, which has paid tribute to other series in all its episodes.

evidence

As you can see in the image and the video, Bulma appears briefly during the scandal generated in a classroom. The young inventor stands out for her lilac hair, thick mechanical glasses and a survival outfit that she has already worn on one of the covers of the Dragon Ball manga.

Urusei Yatsura had Bulma as a ‘guest character’ in his third film, which was released in 1985, shortly after the Dragon Ball manga was published. Its anime adaptation started airing in 1986, so Bulma’s appearance in Urusei Yatsura really counts as a tribute to Akira Toriyama’s work (and not plagiarism, as some argue).

inventor

This surprising cameo had been forgotten because Urusei Yatsura has not had new adaptations or any remake. If not for a dedicated otaku, we would never have discovered this valuable piece of information from a time that many consider the heyday of manga and anime. It is always good to look back and enjoy the nostalgia.
